At the Tucson Racquet & Fitness Club we have a wide variety of activities available to all our members. Everyone can fit in one of those activities, you just have to select the one you like. We have everything from Tennis to TaeKwonDo!

PROGRAMS

Basketball

The Tucson Racquet & Fitness Club has a great selection of LED lighted courts from which to choose. Our full court offers an adult-sized hoop on each end, and 2 children-sized hoops on both sides and we have a half court available as well. Court surfaces are very well maintained and balls are available at the front desk free of charge to members. There are no scheduled games, but drop in matches occur frequently so stop by and join the action!

Handball

Dates:

  • Winter 2025: Jan 7 – March 11

Each league runs for 10 weeks. The format is both singles and doubles. The last night is the League Awards Party.

Leagues are $20.00 for members. The fee for non-members is $60.00.

Handball Senior Olympics Jan 10 & 11 2025

Private handball lessons are available with Dave Fink.

  1. Eye guards and face masks are mandatory.
  2. Rubber-soled gym or tennis shoes which have not been used outdoors must be worn. No black-soled tennis or running shoes are permitted. There is a $10.00 fine for playing in shoes that mark the court.
  3. Shirts must be worn on the courts, grounds, and Clubhouse area except in and around the pool and spa areas.
  4. Gym shorts or tennis shorts with T-shirts or tennis shirts must be worn.
  5. Metal racquets must be equipped with racquet guards. This notwithstanding, players should refrain from striking the wall and floor surfaces of the courts.
  6. Court etiquette should be adhered to at all times. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • When your court time is up, please leave the court as soon as the next players arrive.
    • Courts 1 through 8 will be available on the hour and courts 9 through 11 on the half hour. If you wish to continue to play beyond one hour, call the Front Desk for a court assignment (if a court is available). You may sign up for courts 48 hours in advance. Single racquetball members may reserve only one hour of court time per day; double racquetball members may reserve two hours of prime time per day.
    • When arriving for play, check in at the Front Desk for a court assignment and to sign a charge ticket for each guest.
    • Challenge courts for both racquetball and handball are available during prime time.
    • The winner of a challenge match may play a second challenge, but must leave the court, win or lose, after the second match.

Racquetball

Dates:

  • Winter 2025: Jan 13 – March 26

Each league runs 8 – 10 weeks. The first week of League consists of playing for placement. There are 6 levels of placement: A-1, A-2, B, C. Division A-1 is considered the highest ranking, C the lowest. The next 7 – 10 weeks are actual play in a round-robin format. The last week is designated for make ups and the League Awards Party. Leagues are $20 for members. The fee for non members is $60.00.

Volleyball

We offer year around beach volleyball leagues on Wed & Thursday nights at 6:30 pm.

Three lighted beach/sand volleyball courts

One day tournaments are on Saturdays, 2-3 times per month, from 9am to 6pm October through May. June through September they are Twilight tournaments from 5pm to 11pm. The format varies: Co-Ed Doubles, Men’s Doubles, and Women’s Doubles, Juniors.

Tae Kwon Do

The Dojang, a martial arts community, provides an unparalleled Tae Kwon Do experience that draws upon the instructor’s background in martial arts, education, philosophy, coaching and exercise physiology.

The Dojang is a traditional Tae Kwon Do school affiliated with the United Tae Kwon Do Chung Do Kwan Association. Belts and ranking tests are administered three times each year by 8th degree Senior Instructor Marie Daranyi and 9th degree Grandmaster Hyun Ok Shin. All uniforms and equipment may be purchased directly from the school.

SWIMMING ACTIVITIES

Swimming Pools

The main pool is 6 lanes, 25 yards long. (18 lengths = ¼ mile, 36 lengths = ½ mile) It is heated year round and maintained at 82°.

The 4 lane lap pool on the north side of the racquetball building is designated for adult lap swim only. (You must be 18 yrs. or older).

Children are permitted in the outdoor jacuzzi. Discretion is advised for toddlers under 2 years old, pregnant mothers, and persons with high blood pressure.

We have a covered wading pool for little swimmers. Here, your child or toddler can enjoy the water under your supervision in a shallow pool. Lifeguards are on duty from Memorial Day until school starts

Red Cross Lifeguarding Classes

Class includes 1st Aid, CPR and AED Training. Minimum age is 15 years old. You must be proficient in swim strokes.
