The Tucson Racquet Club offers a full range of Junior Tennis Programs to satisfy the needs of every player. Whether you are a beginner needing to learn the basics or a nationally ranked tournament player, we have the right program and convenient schedule for you. Our Junior Tennis Programs cover the entire spectrum of development including detailed instruction, drill, movement, play situations, strategy and supervised play.
JUNIOR Tennis PROGRAMS

Red Ball – Ages 4-6
Players are introduced to the fundamentals of tennis through fun and games. The junior tennis program is “sized right” utilizing our pickleball courts, peewee sized nets, racquets and balls which allow them to learn the sport quickly, have fun and succeed immediately. In addition, we provide sticker star charts and prizes every session.

Jr Beginner Clinics – Ages 7-17
ORANGE BALL (ages 7-10)
This junior tennis program emphasizes stroke development, proper footwork, and play situations. Played on 60′ blue lined courts.
GREEN BALL (ages 11-12)
This tennis program for junior players introduces full court tennis with continued stroke production and proper footwork and then, learn to rally and play points with more consistency. Played on full 78′ court.
YELLOW BALL ages 13-17
Perfect for kids starting tennis at an older age and uses full court with the yellow ball teaching proper technique in all aspects of the game. Played on full 78′ court.

Jr Development – Ages 7-14
The Jr. Development Tennis Program is designed for the total development of the junior tennis player to prepare them for Jr. Excellence. The Jr. Development Tennis Program is for players that can rally the ball, know how to serve and are ready to start competing, potentially USTA tournaments. Training is used with green balls.
Private lessons provide individual attention, and clinics reinforce the skills learned in the private lesson.
Play strategies are emphasized in structured games and during playday matches.

Jr Excellence – Ages
10-17
The Junior Excellence Tennis Program is for the following:
-Intermediate to Advanced Players
-Middle and High School Players
-USTA Tournament Level Players
Players in this junior tennis program may have USTA ranking goals, want to play on their high school tennis team or aspire to play college tennis.
